After struggling in the first two race weekends, Charles Leclerc can partially smile again in Suzuka, where he regained the second row of the grid. Speaking to the microphones of “Sky Sport F1”, the Monegasque bluntly analyzed his fourth place finish in qualifying.

“On the one hand I am disappointed with the result, but not so surprised. We were expecting very strong McLarens and also Red Bull, so we knew we couldn’t make a miracle. That said, there are weekends where the result is not what we hoped for, however, what we learn is much more important” began the Monegasque driver.

“I think we have taken a big step forward as far as I am concerned. I understood how I could extract the most out of the car. Fourth place is definitely not our goal, but today was the best position we could have had counting the potential of the car” added Ferrari’s number 16.

“We hope that what we have found these days can also help us for the race to get back to the front” concluded Charles Leclerc.
