Intervening at the microphones of “Sky Sports F1”, the McLaren driver Lando Norris, in addition to analyzing the third place finish in qualifying at Suzuka, wanted to say words of homage to Max Verstappen, author of the pole position and the track record lap.

“Congratulations to Max,he did a great job, hats off. You have to recognize when someone does a lap as good as his. I am happy anyway because I think I got the most out of the car today” began the McLaren driver.

“It&#8217s all weekend that Red Bull has been close so I am not surprised about their competitiveness even in qualifying. I honestly expected to see Verstappen fighting for pole. I am very happy with my lap, then it wasn”t enough for pole, as Max did an amazing lap” continued the number 4 of the Woking stable.

“We are happy to be in front, Oscar and I fought for pole, but it was not enough. I came out of Turn 7 wrong and that is the worst place to make a mistake on this track. My lap was very good, we were on the limit, but obviously we were missing something today compared to Red Bull” added the’current world leader.

“The goal is victory, but there’s the weather unknown and it could be a race similar to Melbourne. It will definitely be an exciting race, we will try to pass Max and he will certainly try to defend the first position hard” concluded Lando Norris.
