F1, Helmut Marko ruthless: harsh words about Ferrari
Red Bull adviser does not spare a heavy criticism of Ferrari’s rivals
The second Formula 1 world title for Max Verstappen “is only a matter of time.” Word of Helmut Marko, Red Bull Racing’s advisor, who in an interview with the Austrian portal ‘ORF’ explained what were the keys to the comeback after Ferrari’s initial outburst, without sparing harsh criticism precisely to the Prancing Horse stable.
“After the third race Max was 46 points behind Leclerc,” he explained, “Our car was excessively heavy and had technical problems, these aspects caused the first two retirements. The improvements soo came when we managed to reduce the weight and when we intervened on the front end, which Max tends to attack. We, therefore, concretized race after race our improvements, while Ferrari showed technical problems, which together with the drivers’ driving errors allowed us to accumulate a comfortable lead.”
