Superliga 2025-2026: FCSB-FC hermannstadt, the probable formations
The FCSB season kicks off at 8:30 p.m. Italian time on Saturday, July 12, 9:30 p.m. local time.
The club known until 2017 as Steaua Bucharest will face Sibiu’s FC Hermannstadt in the first day of the 2025-2026 Romanian Superliga. The capital club has won the last two championships, while today’s opponent is coming off a first-place finish in last year’s relegation poule.
Coached by Cypriot Elias Charalambous, FCSB enters the new season with renewed title ambitions: the goal is to finish among the top six in the first phase of the season, with the best possible placement ahead of the final phase where points obtained in the first 30 games are halved and rounded down. Among the players on the roster is Juri Cisotti, an Italian striker who arrived in Bucharest in January.
Hermannstadt, on the other hand, is led by Marius Maldarasanu, the club’s coach since 2021-22, the year of promotion and return to the top flight.
In their three seasons in the Superliga, the Rossoneri have steadily improved their overall position, even coming close to reaching the Poule scudetto last season.
