Tour de France, Filippo Ganna ready to make history

The news had been in the air for some time but on Tuesday it acquired all the trappings of officiality: Filippo Ganna will participate in the Tour de France for the first time in his career. In fact, his name, along with those of Geraint Thomas, Dani Martinez, Adam Yates, Jonathan Castroviejo, Tom Pidcock, Luke Rowe and Dylan van Baarle, is part of the official list of starters issued by Ineos Grenadiers for the 2022 edition of the Grande Boucle.

For the champion from Verbania, holder of the rainbow jersey in the time trials, there will be an immediate chance to make history. In fact, his debut on the roads of the oldest of the great stage races will be precisely against the clock, in Copenhagen, next July 1: 13 kilometers and two hundred meters in which he will give everything to win the first yellow jersey of this edition.
