Franco Morbidelli also skips Czech Republic GP

Ducati VR46 team rider Franco Morbidelli will not participate in this weekend’s Czech Republic Grand Prix in Brno. This was announced by his team, explaining that Morbidelli is still feeling pain from the left shoulder injury caused by the crash in the Sprint at Sachsenring.
After a last medical examination on Monday in Italy and a rehabilitation and physiotherapy plan over the last 48 hours, it was decided that the rider will focus on recovering his left shoulder. Morbidelli will still be present at the circuit to work with the team, continuing with the physiotherapy plan.
“It’s always difficult to make a decision like this, but after a major crash like the one at Sachsenring and at this time in the championship before the summer break, it doesn’t make sense to take this risk because the pain is still persistent,” Morbidelli said.
“It is not an easy time, but I have received so much support from the team and all the fans that I can’t wait to see me recover. I will be in Brno because I want to continue working with my staff and because the team is giving me the opportunity to continue the whole physiotherapy plan at the circuit to return to the track in Austria as recovered as possible.”
On the other hand, Fabio Di Giannantonio will take to the track, which, the team stresses “aims to confirm the excellent sensations on the Desmosedici GP despite Sunday’s crash at Sachsenring”.
