MotoGP: A Nightmare Sunday for Fabio Di Giannantonio—How Is He Doing After His Two Crashes?

After a Saturday filled with great enthusiasm—having secured third place in both qualifying and the Sprint Race—Sunday at the Sachsenring saw Fabio Di Giannantonio crash twice: once during the warm-up and once during the race, which ended after just three and a half laps.
Things had already gotten off to a rocky start for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider that morning: just seconds before the end of the warm-up, Di Giannantonio lost control of his Ducati in Turn 8 at a very high speed. The gravel prevented any further serious consequences: the rider, born in 1998, felt only a slight discomfort in his neck but was still declared “fit” for the race.
During the afternoon race, however, another crash occurred on the fourth lap at Turn 10: Di Giannantonio, who was in fifth place at the time behind Ai Ogura, lost the front end of his Desmosedici, ending up once again in the gravel run-off. No physical injuries but plenty of disappointment for the Roman rider, who returned to the pits with a very grim expression.
With the ‘zero’ points scored this Sunday, Di Giannantonio remains at 184 points in the standings and is now in fifth place: Ahead of him are World Championship leader Jorge Martin with 208 points, Ai Ogura with 194, Marc Marquez with 190, and Marco Bezzecchi—who was absent today due to injury—with 186.
