Marc Marquez is experiencing another difficult time. After winning the ninth world title in 2025, at the end of a five-year ordeal, he is back under the knife after a fall in Saturday’s Sprint at Le Mans, where he fractured the metatarsal of his foot. But that’s not all: it seems that last year’s fall at Mandalika also compromised his shoulder, so much so that he decided to go ahead with the operation to fix the shoulder problem as well. “I raced all these races with a screw touching the nerve that controls the whole arm,” his explanation to Sky Sports.

Because of new operations, the Spaniard was forced to skip the Le Mans long race, but he will also have to forgo the Grand Prix of the Catalogna. The stage where he is scheduled to return is Mugello, one of the most physically demanding tracks in the World Championship and with many ‘right-hand’ corners. Former rider Max Biaggi wanted to have his say about the Spaniard’s situation to the microphones of Skysport: “Mugello is one of the most tiring tracks on the calendar -he said- re-entering there after foot and shoulder surgery will not be an easy thing for him.”

In addition, the six-time World Champion has doubts about his comeback: “I don’t believe in the fact that we will see him back at 100 percent, however, I think he will try to ride as best as he can, but we will also have to give him some time to see him back at the top.”

Max Biaggi also dwelt on the first seasonal verdicts: “The favorite remains Ducati because they won the World Championship last year.” In addition, he pointed out that the season is only just beginning, “We haven’t seen such a strong Aprilia in a long time, but it is also true that we are still at the beginning so everything is to be expected.”
