Atalanta, Ivan Juric discharged from'hospital
Ivan Juric was discharged this afternoon from the Bolognini Hospital in Seriate (Bergamo) where he was hospitalized for a few days because of a bacterial inflammation of the epiglottis.
The’Atalanta coach is on the road to full recovery and will return to Zingonia headquarters on Friday, or Saturday at the latest, to direct the team’s training sessions.
Juric was treated with antibiotics during his stay in the Otolaryngology Department, headed by Dr. Davide Panciera, who on Tuesday had his picture taken with him on the Asst Bergamo Est’s Facebook profile.
The epiglottis is a cartilage at the base of the tongue, inside the larynx, that prevents swallowed food and liquids from clogging the airway: the bacteria that attacked it therefore required urgent treatment.
During the first days of preseason preparation, which began Tuesday morning at the Bortolotti Sports Center, the technical staff was directed by assistant coach Matteo Paro.
