When Luciano Darderi is playing in Umag: his record with Carlos Taberner and where to watch the final on TV
Luciano Darderi goes in the hunt for a second consecutive title after his triumph at the ATP 250 in Bastad. The Italian-Argentinean, number 46 in the ATP rankings, will take on Spain’s Carlos Taberner, world number 111, in the final of the ATP 250 in Umag.
The match between Darderi and Taberner is scheduled for Saturday, July 26, at 8 p.m. on the Goran Ivanisevic Stadion at the Teniski Centar Stella Maris in Umag, Croatia, live on Sky Sport Uno and streaming on NOW.
There is no precedent between Darderi and Taberner: the former reached the semifinals of the ‘Plava Laguna Croatia Open‘ thanks to a two-set victory over Argentine Camilo Ugo Carabelli, while the latter defeated Bosnian Damir Dzumhur in two sets.
“Taberner is a strong guy, who two years ago was top 100 – said Darderi at the press conference -I saw here how he played against Cerundolo and de Jong, and even against Dzumhur he maintained a very high level. He is a player I respect but I hope I can win”.
