Serie A 2025-2026: Napoli-Inter, the likely lineups

Napoli and Inter take the field at 6 p.m. for the big match of the eighth day of Serie A: whoever wins will rise to the top of the standings bypassing AC Milan, which was blocked at home by Pisa on Saturday. The two teams, both currently second on 15 points, arrive at the Maradona Stadium with opposite moods: Conte’s men are fresh from the away defeat against Torino and the heavy knockout suffered in the Champions League against PSV; Chivu’s team, on the other hand, is on a roll with seven wins in the last seven matches between the league and Champions.

Hojlund has not recovered and will not be available for Conte: the Lecce coach is expected to rely on Neres in attack, with Lucca starting initially from the bench. In midfield there will be no Lobotka, at the helm Gilmour. Politano, Anguissa, De Bruyne and Mctominay are confirmed, in defense a novelty: in goal is Milinkovic-Savic and not the injured Meret. The central defenders are Beukema and Buongiorno, Rrahmani out.

Chivu relies on the attacking pair Bonny-Lautaro Martinez (Thuram unavailable), with Pio Esposito initially on the bench. On the flanks Dimarco and Dumfries, in midfield the tried-and-true trio Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan.
