Dolomiti Energia Trentino is preparing for a delicate trip to Sardinia, where it will face Banco di Sardegna Sassari. The Dinamo, after a complicated start to the season, has changed technical leadership relying on coach Veljko Mrsicand in the last four outings has achieved three victories between the league and FIBA Europe Cup. In the standings, the bianconeri occupy the 10th position with a balance of 3 wins and 4 losses, while Sassari is currently last with 1 win and 6 losses. The challenge, scheduled for Sunday at noon, will anticipate two home engagements for Trento before the FIBA break: Tuesday against Chemnitz in EuroCupand Saturday against Treviso in the LBA.

Fabio Bongi presented the challenge: “Sassari’s will be an important away game for our growth: we want to present ourselves with a different attitude and reproduce a performance similar to the one seen in Istanbul, where the team expressed an excellent level of play despite the absences and the high value of the opponents. In these days we will evaluate the conditions of some players to see who we will have available. The team is focused and working well ahead of the game. Sassari is a lineup with great offensive potential, with guards who have feeling for the basket and play at a high pace. It is a solid group, with experienced Italians like Andrea Mezzanotte, a former player of ours. They are extremely dangerous especially at home, where they find extra motivation and they are coming from a good period, with the cup qualification certainly giving them enthusiasm. We will go to Sassari to try to make life as difficult for them as possible”.

He was echoed by DJ Steward: “For us, the Sassari trip will be a mustwin game. We know they want to play at a high tempo, as do we, but we want to impose our style and exploit our strengths. We are coming from some defeats, but we have a great desire to get back on the right track right away. It will be crucial to help each other and stick to the game plan, both on offense and defense, knowing well the characteristics of our opponents. There are three games left before the FIBA break and we want to try to win them all, taking them one at a time and with the utmost respect for who we will have in front of us. We have to work hard and stay focused”.
