Lisa Vittozzi at foot of podium in Idre, Dorothea Wierer sixth in Geilo

The biathlon season gets into full swing with two races staged between Sweden and Norway. In the women’s sprint in Idre valid for the Sverigepremiären in which athletes from Germany, Ukraine and Estonia took part, Hanna Oeberg won ahead of her sister Hanna by 34″9, who paid for the only mistake she made on the ground.
Third place for the other host Linn Gestblom Persson at 40″8 with no mistakes, fourth Lisa Vittozzi who had a fluent race with one mistake in the opening series and a delay of 1’04″5. On Sunday, Nov. 16, the program includes another sprint.
In Geilo, on the other hand, success over the same distance went to home favorite Maren Kirkeeide with a time of 20’29″4 despite two errors, second was compatriot Marit Oygard at just 3 tenths with no errors, and third was Belgian Lotte Lie at 5 tenths with zero errors.
Sixth place for Dorothea Wierer at 25″5, doing well on the narrow skis despite three unusual shooting errors in the standing series, which relegated her several places in a ranking that up to that point saw her clearly in the lead. Among the men, Sebastian Samuelsson won ahead of Germany’s Philip Horn and Simon Kaiser, Lukas Hofer 26th. A mass start is scheduled for Sunday, November 16.
