In spite of being undefeated in the last six matches, Torino remains out of the left side of the standings, also accomplice to a few too many goals conceded, such as the three against Lazio and the two at home against Pisa. For this reason, but also to give an’extra alternative to coach Marco Baroni, the management is considering at least three different hypotheses for the defense, moving ahead of the January market.

According to Tuttosport, in fact, the Granata club has identified Andrea Giorgini, Steve Kapuadi and Lucas Quintana as the best profiles for the type of game, in the defensive phase, of its coach. Giorgini, a class of 2002 currently at Juve Stabia on loan from Südtirol, has played in the past with Fano and Latina, as well as with the Bolzano team, and may not be able to resist the temptation of a call-up to the top division.

Kapuadi is a more experienced footballer (he was born in 1998), is under contract with Legia Warsaw, and recently joined the Democratic Republic of Congo national team, with which he will play in the interconfederal playoffs for qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Quintana is the youngest of the three, having been born in 2005, but already has a fair amount of experience with Cerro Porteño, one of Paraguay’s top clubs.

Torino currently has Saul Coco, Ali Dembele, Ardian Ismajli, Giullermo Maripan, and Adam Masina as central defenders. With Saba Sazonov injured, Baroni would welcome another element to rotate in the three-man defense, without having to adapt other elements as happened, for example, with Adrien Tameze.
