Tragic fall, dies Carlos Fernández Vecín

Spanish rally driver Carlos Fernández Vecín has died at the age of 45. The Team Repauto stable driver lost his life while hiking in the Teverga area of Asturias.
During rescue, Fernández Vecín was given CPR and immobilization maneuvers, but he was unable to overcome the injuries sustained in the fall and his heart stopped beating as he was transferred to the University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA).
The Team Repauto stable plans to pay tribute to its rider next Dec. 21, during the Race of Champions in Ponferrada. “Thank you for all the great moments you gave us, comrade. We will never forget you. Today shines one more star in the sky. Rest in peace, Carlos,” the touching message on social.
