Leading up to the Europa League match at home to Celta at the Estadio de Balaidos in Vigo, Spain, Bologna have to deal with the physical problems of a couple of key men in the Rossoblù team, such as Colombian defender Jhon Lucumí and Scottish midfielder Lewis Ferguson, in addition to some already budgeted absences also due to injury.

Intervening in the match presentation, coach Vincenzo Italiano took stock of the situation. “At the back we are in emergency – said the technician of the Felsina team -. Casale and Vitik are unavailable due to injury and Lucumí resumed training but did not finish this morning’s session: the pain in his hamstring” has flared up.

The defensive sector will have to be ready for the match.

The defensive sector will also have to do without starting goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski, who has been absent since last Nov. 9, while in midfield, in addition to Remo Freuler (also knocked out at the beginning of November), Ferguson might not be there: “He had a swollen knee, he did not train today – said Italiano -. We have to assess tomorrow morning whether it will be the case to play him”.

“What do I ask the boys for the game against Celta? To give me a birthday present – said again the Bologna coach, who just today turned 48 – It will be a tough game, Celta just won against Real Madrid and also because of that they will have even more confidence in their own means. I am sure, however, that we will give our best and can get a great result”.
