All in one game. A victory to move away from the hot spots in the standings and to qualify for the Del Monte Coppa Italia. That is the goal of Vero Volley Monza, which will host Opiquad Arena the Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina tomorrow afternoon.

With a success, the Brianzoli would break through to the Quarterfinals of the competition, scheduled for Dec. 30. Participating in the Del Monte Coppa Italia will be the top eight finishers at the end of the first round: thus Rana Verona, Sir Susa Scai Perugia, Itas Trentino, Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, Valsa Group Modena, Cucine Lube Civitanova, Allianz Milano and one among Vero Volley Monza and Sonepar Padova. Coach Massimo Eccheli’s team has its destiny in its own hands: with a win it would be certain to enter the top eight. Finishing tied on points (either on 10 or 11) would reward the Venetians, however.

That against Grottazzolina will be the last match of the first half of the season, a turning point to which captain Thomas Beretta and his teammates arrive launched after two consecutive victories and with no intention of stopping. There are just two previous matches between the teams and a perfectly even number of wins. If Vero Volleyball succeeds in winning the three points, it would move to +12 from Grottazzolina, the current bottom of the standings.
