Carlos Alcaraz surprisingly separates from his longtime coach

The roads of Carlos Alcaraz and Juan Carlos Ferrero are parting ways: the Murcia outfielder, arch-rival of Jannik Sinner, will change coaches after seven years. It was announced by the world number one on his Instagram profile.Together Alcaraz and Ferrero won 6 Grand Slam tournaments, and 24 ATP titles in total. Samuel Lopez will remain the Iberian’s coach and will accompany him to Australia. “It is very difficult for me to write this post. After more than seven years together, Juanki and I have decided to end our time together as coach and player. Thank you for turning my childhood dreams’into reality”.

Alcaraz ended the year as world number one

Contemporaneously, Ferrero posted a farewell post on Instagram to the young champion: “Today is a difficult day. One of those days when it is difficult to find the right words. Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when there are so many shared experiences behind us. We have worked hard, grown together and shared unforgettable moments. I want to thank you for the time, trust, learning and, most importantly, for the people who have surrounded me during this journey”.
