Serie B 2025-2026: Empoli-Frosinone, the likely lineups
At the Castellani comes, for Empoli’s last match of 2025, league-leading Frosinone, a top-level test to measure the real ambitions of Alessio Dionisi’s team. On the one hand there’s a desire to make that leap in quality, on the other the awareness of the men coached by Massimiliano Alvini.
L’Empoli will take the field with 3-4-2-1, albeit with some changes from the last outing. Up front there will still be Nasti, complicit with the absence of Pellegri, while on the three-quarter will return Shpendi, ready to pair with Ilie. In midfield, the ballot between Ceesay and Elia for the role of right halfback remains open, as well as the one between Degli Innocenti and Ghion in the direction.
Frosinone will respond with its usual 4-2-3-1. The only real doubt concerns Caló, not at his best but still favored for a first-minute shirt: in case of forfeit, room for Koné. Raimondo will lead the’attack, supported by the Ghedjemis-Koutsoupias-Kvernadze trio, while Gelli and Raychev remain in the pits.
