The brace against Verona will not change the future of Christopher Nkunku, at least according to soccer market rumors coming out of Turkey. The Milan striker scored his first Serie A goals in the Rossoneri shirt on Sunday, but he could leave the Diavolo in any case in a few days after his first difficult months in Italy. According to Istanbul media reports, Fenerbahce, ready to get serious about the player ahead of the opening of the winter market, has swooped on him. One phone call in particular has reportedly convinced Nkunku to consider a transfer.

Domenico Tedesco, Fenerbahce coach, reportedly called his protégé (they worked together at Leipzig) to convince him to play in the Turkish Super Lig. The French striker has reportedly opened to a transfer to Turkey: the ball may now pass to Milan, which will evaluate the possible offer coming from Fenerbahce. According to rumors, the Istanbul club would like the player on loan with the right of redemption set at 35 million euros, more or less the amount the Rossoneri are asking for the former Chelsea player’s card.

At the moment in any case, no official requests have arrived: Milan is waiting for news from Turkey and from the agents of the player himself, who may eventually prefer to play his cards in Milan after getting unblocked in the league. Massimiliano Allegri has been betting on him in the last few matches and even in the press conference he reiterated his confidence: “Sometimes there are players who arrive and need more time to fit in, also because of character issues. He has a very important technique, to see him in training”.

“I am confident, he has to be because he is in an environment that wants him and is waiting for him to score goals. I think it is a matter of fitting in. The Italian league is very formative, and it is the second best in the world after the English league. It is much more difficult. You have less space, they play on you, there&#8217s a lot more guile, the games are dirtier. Maybe he needs a little bit more time to adapt”, Allegri explained.

Nkunku spoke this way after the match against Verona, where he was named MVP: “I came back after an injury, I needed time to regain fitness, now I am training well and I feel better and better. These are moments… It is difficult when you don”t do good preparation, but it is important to stay positive”.
