Dusko Ivanovic saves only one quarter after Virtus drubbing
Coach Dusko Ivanovic analyzed in a press conference at the end of the Athens game against Olympiacos the clear defeat of Virtus Bologna, which is further and further away from the Euroleague play-in.
“Congratulations to Olympiakos, they really played very well proving to be the better team. They played with speed, aggressiveness and with confidence, while we on the other hand played only 10 minutes”.
“After the first quarter we had no energy, no team play and no defense: therefore there was no game”, he added on the reason behind the heavy 109-77 final.
Peppe Poeta, on the other hand, breathed a big sigh of relief after the win against Asvel, with the French team that after coming back from -14 scored the winning shot out of maximum time: “It’s a very important success for us, the third in a row in the Euroleague. It is never easy in this competition to put together a winning streak. For 30-34 minutes we played a good game, we were in control, even beyond the problems of fouls that ruined the long game. Then we stopped, we were stagnant, we even panicked a bit and in the end we won it with a bit of luck but deservedly”.
