An auction that attracted the attention of collectors and fans around the world has closed after 41 days: starring the legendary Pokémon Pikachu Illustrator card, until recently owned by youtuber and entrepreneur Logan Paul. The final result exceeded all expectations, touching the incredible figure of $16.492 million, an amount that represents an all-time record in the Pokémon trading card market and triples the amount Paul initially paid to secure it.

The Pikachu Illustrator is considered a true relic for the collectibles world: distributed in extremely limited quantities in the late 1990s as a prize in an illustration contest in Japan, it is among the rarest cards ever produced. Its fame depends not only on its scarcity, but also on the symbolic value it represents for the history of the Pokémon brand.

Making this specimen even more extraordinary is its state of preservation. In fact, the card is rated PSA 10 by the Professional Sports Authenticator, the highest possible score awarded by the certification body. This rating indicates virtually perfect condition: flawless centering, intact edges, sharp corners and a surface free of visible imperfections. Such a high grade, coupled with the inherent rarity of the paper, has been a major contributor to raising the price to a figure never before achieved in the industry.

Logan Paul is an American youtuber, wrestler, and entrepreneur. He has been under contract with WWE since 2022 and once held the United States Championship. He became famous through videos posted on Vine: in 2015 he was ranked as the 10th most influential person on the platform and his six-second videos earned him hundreds of thousands of dollars in advertising revenue. He later moved to Youtube and his fame grew further.

In 2022 Logan Paul began a relationship with Danish model Nina Agdal, and on September 30, 2024, the couple’s first daughter was born. The two were married in August 2025 in Lake Como, Italy.
