Never underestimate the heart of the Knicks. On the night at Madison Square Garden, something crazy happened. The hosts were slapped in the face by Houston. Down even by 18 points, Brunson and his teammates were booed loudly by their own crowd. Everything was pointing to a nightmare night but, with a dream comeback (33 to 13 the partial), the Knicks managed to win the challenge 108-106, also thanks to Durant’s mistake at the buzzer. Decisive were Brunson (20 points), Towns (25) and Anunoby (20).

Many other contests played on NBA night. Phoenix, after a full two overtimes, beat Orlando in a sprint 113-110. Excellent performance by Allen who, starting from the bench, finished with an impressive 27 points on the bench. Philadelphia fell badly, surrendering to New Orleans: 126-111 the final. Only two minutes on the court for Italy’s Fontecchio in Miami’s win over Memphis: 136-120 the final. Wiggins was decisive in the Heat with 28 points scored.

Everything easy for Detroit that gets rid of Chicago: 126-110 the final. As many as five Pistons players in double figures in points, including Duren who finished with 26 points, to which he also added 13 rebounds. Also smiling was San Antonio, which won decisively over Sacramento (139-122). Another decidedly stellar showing by Wembanyama. The Spurs all-star put up 28 points, with also 15 rebounds and no less than four stoppages.

Phoenix Suns guard Brooks suffered a fractured left hand in the victory after two overtimes against the Orlando Magic. He will probably be out for an extended period of time, at least according to sources at ESPN.

Finally, also from ESPN, comes the news that Walter, the new owner of the LA Lakers, has some actions in mind to get back on his $10 billion mega investment (so much the franchise cost him). Ahead of the 2026-27 season, the franchise is planning a big increase in ticket prices.
