Sassuolo striker Andrea Pinamonti gave a lengthy interview to Corriere dello Sport in which he also talked about the possibility of being summoned to the national team, which in a month will be engaged against Northern Ireland in the playoffs for the 2026 World Cup. “It is normal, I have it in my head as a goal – admitted the center forward of the neroverde club. I like to compete for a big goal. I want to improve myself day by day to get there”.

Then he talked about his coach Fabio Grosso, world champion in 2006 with Italy: “There has been a very good relationship since the summer. He always talked to me, gave me useful advice. He is close to me and for a player it means a lot. He has always defended me and I have thanked him several times. It is important to have the support of the coach and teammates. It makes me feel calm, he has supported me continuously maybe also for the work I have always done for the team”.

In addition to the Azzurro dream, Pinamonti does not deny that he wants to play in a big: “I challenge anyone not to think about it. It is legitimate to want to play in the future in a big and important square. I know that to succeed I have to work, grow, commit myself and prove that I deserve it. Only in this way could I someday succeed”.

“Hard to say what I lack for the leap forward, the way I am, I lack a little bit of everything. I try in training to improve where I know and think I can improve. The discourse is too complex, with sacrifices one can improve and thus aspire to the best” concluded Pinamonti.
