Sportal.it exclusive, Gianfelice Facchetti: "This Inter doesn’t want to be left with a fistful"

In Via Confalonieri 3, in the Isola neighborhood, Milan’s first Sports Library named after Gianni Mura has opened. It is a public space designed to tell the story of sport not only as competition, but as cultural, social and civil expression. A project that pays tribute to the figure of the great journalist and at the same time looks ahead, actively involving the city. The inauguration was attended by many people. Among those present was Gianfelice Facchetti, son of the unforgettable Giacinto, symbol of a soccer that left a deep mark on Italian sports history. Sportal.it exclusively interviewed the actor, writer and theater director, obviously a big fan of the ‘Beneamata’.

Can we find a silver lining in Tuesday night’s match?
.
If we want to be optimistic, we can say that after the night always comes the morning. However, talking about the match, Inter did what it had to do at least in the first half. It tried to impose its game, although the initial episode greatly affected the course of the match.

What kind of opponent did they face?
.
A team that runs a lot, well organized and with good technical quality. We need to get the idea of the Scandinavian teams of the past out of our heads. Today they are competitive groups even at the European level. In some cases there is little to add except to recognize the merits of the opponent. This time, Inter failed to get the better of them.

"Scandal" for Caterina Balivo: there's an uncle’s in the middle… interista
The presenter, super supporter of Napoli, told that in the family there's a black sheep. Indeed, nerazzurra.
He did so in a recent interview granted to the 'Gazzetta dello Sport'. "A scandal" she smiled.
Tons of concepts expressed by the good (and beautiful) Campanian conductor.
"Napoli is experienced as a true faith by those born and raised in the city".
His first times at the stadium go back to'childhood, in the Maradona period.
"There'was also Naldi’s Napoli in Serie B and failure. And I was there'I was"
"Then the slow rise with De Laurentiis from Serie C. And there'I was also there".
In the last three years Napoli has won two championships.

"Winning two titles in three years is something huge".

"Conte’s reappointment was the best news of the'year".
"Soccer looks like life: there are ups, downs, falls and restarts".
"When you are on a high you must rejoice without forgetting that nothing lasts forever".

Now the team can totally focus on the race toward the Scudetto…
.
I don’t think it was a conscious choice, but perhaps the team managed its energy with the idea of not being left with a fistful. With a long and heavy season like last year, certain dips are felt. It is normal for players to try to focus their energies on the goal most within reach.

Was the Champions League, after reaching the final last season, within reach?
.
This year, even considering some important absences, I think not. Let’s not forget how much we missed Calhanoglu, who has only just returned after months. When you go to play against even better equipped teams, the risk increases. You need to be at your best.

Did the criticism after the game seem exaggerated to you?
.
In part, yes. Esposito is surprising everyone, perhaps even ahead of his time. Even in the summer there was talk of his possible departure, instead today he is an added value. In Lecce he responded presently, yesterday he did not have great opportunities. But he was not the one who had to solve the evening.

With what spirit should we start again?
.
With lucidity. Disappointments are part of the journey, but we need to look ahead. The season is not over and there is still so much to play for. As an interista I can say that the team with Bodo/Glimt tried until the end. It was not enough. Now head to the championship.

I will verify that it is in this wonderful library, dedicated to a very great person: should it be missing I will make sure to find it myself
