Marc Marquez’s real target revealed: there'enter Valentino Rossi

Marc Marquez wants to overtake Valentino Rossi. Saying it outright is the’former MotoGP centaur Stefan Bradl, who in an interview with ‘Sport and chat from Hangar-7’ spoke about the number 93, whom he knew very well having been a test rider in Honda for years. The nine-time world champion in 2026 can aim for several records, such as victory number 100 in his career or the’eighth title in the premier class, but according to Bradl his ambition is another: to beat the Doctor.

“He wants to be the undisputed king of MotoGP and overtake Valentino Rossi. That is his incentive–these are Bradl–s clear words; . He is like a tennis player who has already won 20 Grand Slam titles. So he does not want to stop, even the 21st title is interesting. Marc knows how difficult it is because he too has suffered setbacks. The fact that he and Alex are so successful as brothers gives him even more strength”.

During testing he fell several times: “It&#8217s typical of him, when Marc finds the limit, he knows how to handle it for the rest of the weekend. He also accepts those falls ‘minor'”. The Spanish champion experienced a difficult weekend in Thailand also because of a physical problem: “Leaving aside the falls and my physical condition, we come from an overall positive test on this track”.

Now it’s getting serious: “The race simulation ended earlier than expected but, until then, the feelings were positive. On this track I got my first victory with the Ducati Lenovo Team, one of those memories that give you the charge. Then the first race of the season, even after so many years, is always special”.

Marc Marquez has yet to sign his contract renewal with Ducati: the Catalan rider is expected to renew until 2028, but the’officiality is not yet here”.
