Shiffrin has no doubts about Sofia Goggia

Sofia Goggia went through a very complicated 2022, where she still managed to win the silver medal in the downhill at the Beijing Winter Olympics and the specialty World Cup, also in downhill.

Despite all the obstacles faced by the Bergamo native, Mikaela Shiffrin, one of her biggest rivals, is convinced that the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic champion will not stop winning.

The U.S. carrier spoke this way in an interview with ‘Il Corriere della Sera’: “I’ve known her for quite a while now, I admire mentality of her, the ability to rely on that fire in her. She has very strong motivations: you can see that fire in her look, in the way she skis, in the videos she posts on social, in how she talks. She is always authentic, not trying to be someone else. She puts what she loves first, that’s why she is so strong, she will win so many more races.”

Shiffrin, last season, stumbled through an Olympics to forget, but still hit the overall World Cup, her fourth after those in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
