The Junior Alpine Skiing World Championships in Narvik, Norway, continue in the sign of Anna Trocker: in fact, the very young champion, class of 2008, won the gold medal in the special slalom after winning that in the giant slalom. This is an ‘absolute first’ for Italian skiing, which never at this level had won gold, in the same event, in the two technical specialties, both at the women&#8217s and men&#8217s levels. Another prestigious result for an athlete who promises to be a protagonist also among the bigs in the coming years.

Including other alpine skiing disciplines, however, the world double at the youth level had previously succeeded Giovanni Franzoni (downhill and combined in 2022), Nadia Fanchini (giant and downhill in 2005), Karen Putzer (giant and Super-G in 1997) and Morena Gallizio (slalom and combined 1993). For Trocker, by the way, this is her third personal medal at Narvik 2026, including silver in the team combined, along with Ludovica Righi.

As for the slalom, Trocker was ahead of Leonie Raich (Austria, +2″29) and Aada Kanto (Finland, +3″78) on the podium. Important gaps between the new world youth champion and her direct competitors, confirming a very high level that, by the way, had already convinced the Italian coaches to give her a chance in the home Olympics, where together with Nicol Delago she had placed tenth in the combined team event, withdrawing instead in the slalom.

The success in the youth rainbow event also guarantees a pass for the senior World Cup finals to be held next weekend in Lillehammer and Kvitfjell, also in Norway. Anna Trocker will therefore be at the start in both the special slalom and the giant slalom, where she will face all the bigwigs of the white circus and will try to improve on her results obtained this year in the very first races run in the CdM, where she came close to entering the second run in Semmering and Spindleruv Mlyn, in both cases in the giant slalom.
