Basketball, Real Madrid inflexible: reasons for separation with Pablo Laso

The paths of Real Madrid and Pablo Laso have parted. In an official statement, the club confirmed the decision not to keep the coach at the helm of the first team and also explained the reasons why.
“Nothing, not even Real Madrid, is above anyone’s health. In this case it is a risk that this club cannot take,” the most important words within the club’s lengthy official statement. Pablo Laso, due to a recent heart attack, underwent surgery and was admitted to intensive care. The 56-year-old coach had been leading Real Madrid since as far back as 2011.
