He won the last two Tours

On stage 6, his moment came. Tadej Pogacar, winner in the last two years, took the yellow jersey in this Tour de France. Indeed, the Slovenian of UAE Team Emirates sprinted to win the 220-kilometer Binche to Longwy stage on the eve of the first uphill finish.

A stage that saw Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) in the breakaway, who then collapsed, however, finishing 7’28” behind Pogacar. The Slovenian crossed the finish line ahead of Michael Matthews (Bike Exchange) and David Gaudu (Groupama). Fifth was Nairo Quintana, ninth Primoz Roglic.

With the stage bonus Pogacar is now yellow jersey with a 4″ lead over Neilson Powless. Then Jonas Vingegaard at 31″ and Adam Yates at 39″. Sixth Geraint Thomas at 46″, ninth Romain Bardet at 1’01”.
