F1: Leclerc-Sainz, fratricidal battle does not please fans
The two Ferraristi fighting each other favored Max Verstappen
The battle between Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz characterized the sprint race of the Austrian Grand Prix. At the Red Bull Ring, the two Ferrari drivers battled from the first meters, with the Spaniard immediately aggressive and able to snatch second position from his teammate, then recovered by the Monegasque a few corners later.
The two then continued to duel for a few laps, in a completely fair manner, but meanwhile Max Verstappen took advantage and got the distance he needed to calmly lead the sprint race, and on Sunday he will start from the first place on the grid.
The “fratricidal” duel did not please most Ferrari fans, who took to social media to criticize the battle, which they deemed unnecessary. “This Leclerc-Sainz fight does nothing but favor Max, but I say the race wall wants to wake up,” “Leclerc lost time to fight and Verstappen went away,” “the antics between Leclerc and Sainz cost a second,” “the useless fight between Leclerc and Sainz deprived us of the duel with Verstappen that we all wanted to see,” is the tenor of the comments.
