F1, Fernando Alonso caustic: also called into question Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen
Asturian’s broadside
From the height of his experience, Fernando Alonso made a rather bitter assessment of the state of Formula 1, speaking to the Dutch portal ‘Nos’.
“The approach to the new rules? It’s so-so,” said the two-time world champion. “Unfortunately, Formula 1 is still very predictable, boring. It’s all between Red Bull and Ferrari. Only Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez can win. I don’t know any other sport where it goes like this.”
“During the Grand Prix there are more overtaking and with these cars you can fight better,” the Alpine driver added. However, I still think it’s boring, even though it’s a part of F1. In the end there are and always will be teams that are faster than others.”
