Former Ducati four-time world champion Carl Fogarty showed his skepticism about the current state of affairs in MotoGp

Former Ducati champion Carl Fogarty in an interview with Crash.net confessed his skepticism about the current state of affairs in MotoGp. According to Fogarty, the very high performance level of the bikes has affected the riders, “I don’t know what’s going on, but I’m looking at the riders and I don’t know how good they really are anymore, just because the bikes are so good.”

“The evolution of technology has been incredible. I hear the commentators getting excited because all the riders are in a second and I wonder why…. The technology is so advanced that it has taken a lot away from the rider, I don’t know anymore which rider is the best, the most talented. It’s almost Formula 1 cars, everyone is just driving around and waiting for the last laps.”

For Fogarty, there is a lack of someone like Valentino Rossi, but maybe just because of the bike problem: “A superstar has always been there since the 1970s with Barry Sheene, Kenny Roberts, Doohan, Valentino Rossi, Marc Marquez, and Jorge Lorenzo. Now there are eight guys winning races because the bikes are so good or because there is no superstar? I don’t know, I think differently from others.”
