F1, Alpine-Piastri duel becomes a court case
A fine mess that is likely to have serious legal consequences
Alpine would have no intention of sitting on its hands after Oscar Piastri announced that he would not drive a single-seater from the French stable.
The 21-year-old Australian driver has been entrenched behind a pre-contract signed with McLaren. Now, as highlighted by Marca, the duel could end the court with both sides in the dispute that would have no intention of backing down. There would be a solution: Ricciardo at Alpine with Piastri at McLaren but, at the moment, it does not look like a solution that could go through. The Alpine-Piastri soap opera is only just beginning.
