Novak Djokovic out: ‘Crazy situation’
Novak Djokovic’s paradoxical situation is making the tennis world debate
Controversy is mounting in the tennis world over the situation of Novak Djokovic, who due to his refusal to vaccinate himself for Covid has been forced to cancel the Montreal Masters 1000, and will not even be there at Cincinnati and the Us Open due to anti-Covid regulations banning him from the United States.
On Twitter, U.S. tennis player John Isner did not hide his astonishment: ” It’s complete madness that he can’t compete now.” Recently some members of Congress made an appeal to President Joe Biden in favor of the Serbian tennis player’s participation, so far unheeded. The Wimbledon winner’s coach, Goran Ivanisevic, has little hope: “Novak will do everything he can, maybe with a special visa, but there are only two weeks left. I personally have no hope.”
