All, bronze for Italy

Manita azzurra. Chiara Pellacani and Matteo Santoro are the “bronze faces” in the three-meter mixed synchro and win Italy’s fifth consecutive diving medal at the European Championships in Rome. In the first three days of competition two golds with team event and Bertocchi from one meter, three bronzes with Pellacani from one meter, Tmbretti and Jodin Di Maria from the mixed platform and now Pellecani and Santoro in the three mixed.

The program is the same as the World Championships in June and the European Championships in May 2021 and the same, even in sequence, as that of Germans Lou Massenberg and Tina Punzel who are the new European champions in the specialty. Their points record remains 300.69 on May 12, 2021 in Budapest, while on June 29, also at the Duna Arena, they were about seven points below. They finish third with 283.56, six hundredths ahead of Sweden’s Emilia Nilsson Garip and Elias Petersen (283.50). The Germans, silver medalists at the 2011 European Championships behind the Italians, won with 294.89, and in second place came Britain’s James Heatly and Grace Reid with 290.76.
