F1, Leclerc-Verstappen: Montoya has no doubt about the favorite at Spa
Montoya gets unbalanced on Spa
Former Colombian driver Juan Pablo Montoya, in an interview with VegasInsider, explained who he sees as the favorite between Leclerc, who will certainly have to serve a grid penalty, and Verstappen, at Spa, the race that marks the restart of Formula 1 after the summer break.
“I would bet on Charles, I’m usually a big supporter of Verstappen, but I think that track could be one that is particularly favorable to Ferrari,” explained the former Williams and McLaren man.
“It is a fast track, where good pace is required, there are the right conditions for Red Bull as well, and it is an ideal track for someone like Perez, who I think is doing very well. Budapest, for example, is quite a technical circuit, and it’s also difficult to get a good lap time. At Spa, on the other hand, it is definitely easier. I’m sure Perez and Verstappen will be there, but if I had to bet today, I would probably bet on Charles,” the Colombian added later.
