Camila Giorgi is ready to begin her US Open adventure against Hungary’s Bondar.

“I will face the first match as always,” she explained to Gazzetta dello Sport, “with my game. I have never faced her, but I enter the court with all of them to impose my rhythm and my tennis. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes less. I’ve certainly been training very hard in the last few weeks. I want to do something important. I have focused on trying to minimize errors. Sometimes it only takes a few to turn a match negative.”

In New York all the spotlight will be on Serena Wulliams: “Yes, although I admit I don’t follow women’s tennis that much… But she is unique. The whole world knows who she is, her will to win has made her an example for many of us.”
