Olimpia Milano, crazy comeback win from -26
Milan-Pesaro 72-70
It was a strange game in Vigevano that Olimpia won 72-70 with a basket almost at the buzzer by Brandon Davies (21 points, 12 in the second half) paced by Kevin Pangos, but after coming back from minus 26.
For 15 minutes it was an Olimpiain the thrall of Pesaro: from 45-19, the partial was 53-25. The defense stepped up caused turnovers, forced shots, lowered the opponents’ shooting percentages. However, the offense still paid for a few too many lost balls, was erratic, but found the weapons it needed: first Kevin Pangos who towards the end of the first half brought the deficit back within normal margins, then Billy Baron with two triples at the beginning of the second half determined the first comeback, and finally when an excellent Vuelle accelerated again having ridden the inside game of Davies, also used in combination with Kyle Hines, who in this case was defending on the opponent’s strong wing, was decisive. The last comeback, before the sprint, was determined by also using three playmakers together, including Tommaso Baldasso and Mitrou-Long, who struggled before finishing with a couple of excellent plays, including on defense.
