Pogacar makes no drama out of only narrow victory at Giro dell’Emilia

Success didn’t come for Tadej Pogacar at the Giro dell’Emilia, but the Slovenian of UAE Team Emirates makes no dramas and instead honors the winner of the race, Spain’s Enric Mas of Movistar Team, launching a new challenge for the upcoming races that will close the 2022 cycling season.

“The team did a great job today,” Pogacar told his team’s official channels, “I gave it my all in the finale but Mas went really strong and I have to admit he had a better leg than me today. However, I am happy with this result and a condition that I hope will lead me to do well in the next races on Wednesday and Saturday at Lombardia.”

Mas won the race with finish in San Luca solo, ahead of Pogacar by 11″. Rounding out the podium was the first of the Italians, Domenico Pozzovivo of Intermarché-Wanty_gobert, who finished 13″ behind the winner.
