After the exoneration of Marco Giampaolo, Sampdoria management is very close to Dejan Stankovic as a replacement for the Blucerchiata bench.

The two sporting directors Faggiano and Osti had tried to bring Claudio Ranieri to Genoa, but he preferred to give up, specifying that the reasons were not economic. The names were finally three: Stankovic, De Rossi, and Paulo Sosa. The name that finally convinced the most was precisely that of the former Red Star coach. In the evening the two directors should in fact define the contract that would bring the Serbian to lead the Blucerchiata team.

The former Inter player should then make his debut on Saturday night against Bologna coached by his former Triplete teammate Thiago Motta. The official announcement is expected to come in the day tomorrow Wednesday, October 5.
