Max Biaggi fires another mechanic
The decision by Max Biaggi’s Sterilgarda team comes after a video leaked online
A turbulent moment for Max Biaggi’s Max Racing Team, which, after the dismissal of two mechanics for the attempted “blocking” against a rider in the pit lane at Aragon, has kicked out another member of the Moto3 team for a video leaked online.
The images date back to 2019, when the mechanic in question, then part of the CIP – Green Power team, beat up British rider Tom Booth-Amos at the Moto3 Thai Grand Prix. The deed, caught on camera, immediately caused a stir online, and Biaggi took the decision, in consultation with Fim, Irta and Dorna, to defenestrate the man, who will no longer be part of the team from the next Malaysian GP.
“FIM, together with IRTA and Dorna Sports, believes that this is the correct decision and fully supports the action taken by the team in terminating the contract of the individual concerned. Abuse is not and will not be tolerated. Everyone will continue to work to make the MotoGP paddock as safe a working environment as possible.”
