Reyer Venezia, De Raffaele ready to re-embrace a former great
Reyer Venezia will face Pesaro on the second day of the championship
Reyer Venezia coach Walter De Raffaele, in the press conference on the eve of the game, presented the challenge against VL Pesaro, which will host the Orogranata team on the second day of the championship.
In the first day, the Venetians prevailed over newly promoted Scafati while the Marche team overcame Trieste.
“We’re facing Pesaro: a team in my opinion with a lot of balance and quality, especially because it can count on a core of high-level Italians and this can be an important element for the season, plus foreigners like Rahkman and Kravic, who are players, in addition to Charalampopoulos or Delfino, who can make an impact, as they already showed on Sunday. Pesaro is playing very good, beautiful basketball, as the Trieste win showed, and it will also be their home opener for them. So there are many elements to know that it will be a tough game. I think once again the physical impact aspect on the game can be important, as well as the ability they have in taking shots from three with so many different players,” Reyer’s coach said.
Then De Raffaele said he was very happy to be able to re-embrace Valerio Mazzola, a great former of the challenge, in Venice for the past four seasons: “I will be very happy to see, after Stone last Sunday, Valerio Mazzola, one of those players who, although with different characteristics from Julyan, has been decisive for the years in which we won, as well as for his work on the court, also for everything he did off the court, always making himself available, at the service of what the group needed and for whom we therefore have great respect.”
