F1 at Suzuka: a fan remembers Jules Bianchi and Charles Leclerc gets emotional
A historic trail with a tragic and indelible memory.
Formula 1’s return to Suzuka evokes not only so many decisive world championship editions of the Japanese Grand Prix, but also the tragic 2014 race. On that occasion Jules Bianchi ran into the accident that would cost him his life, and Charles Leclerc has never forgotten it.
The Monegasque Ferrari driver was deeply attached to his more experienced colleague, who was his friend, mentor and even godfather. That is precisely why Leclerc on arrival at Suzuka wanted to honor the memory of Jules Bianchi. But he also became emotional after seeing a tribute to the late Maranello Academy driver from a fan.
Indeed, the fan posted a touching photomontage in which the Jules Bianchi of the past and the Charles Leclerc of the present hold a still-child Leclerc on their shoulders. Both are wearing Ferrari overalls. “He has been by his side since day one. I like to think that this weekend Jules will be even more with Charles,” is the comment on the image.
And the post was promptly noticed by Leclerc himself, who decided to relaunch it on his Twitter profile without adding a word. In fact, his post includes a single red heart. To worthily remember Jules Bianchi, probably, nothing else was needed.
