A resounding knockout, and some explaining to do.

Virtus Bologna falls painfully in the Euroleague, where the first one in 15 years ends 66-83 and with Munich winning decisively. It was a performance to analyze, and Sergio Scariolo did not hide: “For us it was a good lesson. There was a need for us to understand quickly what playing in the Euroleague entails and what level of physicality we will have to deal with.”

“We knew that Munich in Europe is among the best formations. But I really want to thank the crowd for the fantastic atmosphere they created throughout the evening,” Scariolo added. “We can say that already starting tonight we will learn from our mistakes, since for many this was the first time.

Then a more specific analysis of the game. “In the first and last quarter we also did well, in the second and third less so. We will have to work and improve on free throws, open shots and perimeter shots, because we made too many mistakes. I don’t want to cry then about absences, but Milos and Toko have great experience and will be very useful to us in the comeback. Milos is regaining condition, but in general we have to grow as a group by creating mechanisms that unite us. And those who had only seen the Euroleague on TV now know what is needed,” Scariolo concluded.
