Novak Djokovic makes 90 in Astana and qualifies for ATP Finals
Novak Djokovic wins his 90th ATP title in Astana
After his success a week ago in Tel Aviv, Novak Djokovic repeated in the ATP 500 in Astana, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece without too much trouble in two sets (6-3 6-4).
The Serbian champion commented on his 90th career ATP success this way at the end of the match, “My intention when I started playing tennis was to reach the highest points in our sport, and I am happy to be doing so well at this point in my life: 35 is not 25!”
“I couldn’t have asked for a better restart in the season after the Wimbledon final, I had great motivation to come back after being idle and I’m happy to be back to win here,” Nole added.
With this success Djokovic also mathematically qualified for the ATP Finals in Turin, now ranked 10th in the Race but qualified by right for winning a Slam during the season.
