Fernando Alonso is furious with the strategy adopted by the French team in Japan

Fernando Alonso at the microphones of As launched a harsh attack against Alpine for the strategy used in Japan: “Our strategy didn’t work, we keep making wrong decisions. We were the last to stop for intermediates, losing positions. We came in late with six laps to go and I was where I started the race.”

Alonso, who will leave the French team at the end of the year, had also blurted out over the radio, “I asked the pit wall to stop earlier both times, but I think they had turned off my microphone. If we had stopped with 10-12 seconds to go it would have been better, we missed an opportunity.” The Asturian in the next F1 World Championship will drive an Aston Martin.
