MotoGp, Pecco Bagnaia vs. Fabio Quartararo: former champion gets out of line
Crivillé has his say on the Bagnaia-Quartararo duel
With three Grands Prix to go, balance reigns supreme at the top of MotoGp with Fabio Quartararo just two points ahead of Pecco Bagnaia on the eve of the MotoGp race in Australia.
Net of the possible inclusion of a third wheel (Aleix Espargaró and Enea Bastianini are quite distant but still kept in play by arithmetic) it is between the Ducatista and the Yamaha rider the main challenge for the 2022 title. It’s a duel that no small amount of passion excites a former champion of the premier class (at the time of the 500) like Alex Crivillé: “Fabio Quartararo knows that winning the MotoGp title will not be easy – he told ‘Marca’ -. There is Pecco Bagnaia just two points away, there are three races left and now there are circuits that are not favorable to Yamaha, like Phillip Island. To date the Ducati is superior and Fabio Quartararo will not have an easy time. Not even in Sepang, a circuit with many straights, where the Ducati will be very fast.”
“Bagnaia,” added Crivillé, “has collected 61 points in the last four races, Quartararo just 19. Pecco’s season finishes are of the highest level, there is every reason to believe that already at Phillip Island he can move to the top of the standings. Everything, however, is still open.”
