“Spal is the right environment, nothing scares me.”

As excited as a child on the first day of school. This was the mood of Daniele De Rossi, who already as a player always stood out for his passion and emotional involvement, at his presentation as Spal’s new coach in the customary press conference.

“Entering in a different capacity in a locker room had a strange effect on me, but for this opportunity I want to thank everyone, especially Joe Tacopina, who has given me great confidence. I have always been a favorite of his, there is great esteem and human friendship between us, but the thing I would like to do now is to repay the trust of a winning man. It also took a bit of madness to call me, but I’m really happy to be here,” began the world champion at Germany 2006.

“To make a comparison, it’s like when you go from elementary school to middle school: there’s that fricking, as we say in Rome, that feeling that makes you ask so many questions-‘Will they like me? Will it go well?” But I am not alone here, I have my staff, and I couldn’t be happier with the people who work with me, as well as the people I have found here. We are already working for Saturday’s challenge against Cittadella, we are trying to say the right things to the players while avoiding confusion, also because you don’t need to say everything right away, you have to understand the moment. Being a coach is complicated, I’ve always known that, but with the right people, and SPAL is the right environment, nothing scares me,” concluded a De Rossi who immediately appeared charged and motivated.
