Jannik Sinner also abdicates in Antwerp
Jannik Sinner will not be present in Belgium, where he won last season
The Atp 250 tournament in Antwerp, which will award important points for the Atp Finals in Turin, is under way. Leading the seeding is Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz, followed by Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime: both are in the hunt for valuable Race points.
On the other hand, the tournament will be devoid of Italian tennis players: at the starting ribbons there will also be no Jannik Sinner, who after his injury in Sofia will return to the court only next week in Vienna and thus will not be able to defend the title he won last season.
For the Italian tennis player, the chances of qualifying for the Finals are slim: he is currently 14th, far from Felix Aguer-Aliassime’s seventh and last available spot.
